As a child, Steven wanted to become a vet. He loved animals and thought that getting to work with them every day would be the perfect job. While still in elementary school, he was asked what his favorite thing would be if he became a vet. He answered, “putting animals to sleep,” and that’s when he learned what that saying actually meant. “I thought it meant they would wake up later and the vet gets to keep them. Apparently, I was mistaken and I didn't want anyone to know that I didn't know what it meant so I pretended like I thought putting animals out of their misery was noble. But I was dying on the inside. That pretty much ruined the idea of becoming a vet for me.”
Fast forward a couple decades and two questions brought Steven to real estate. How will you serve the world? What do they need that your talent can provide? Having the privilege of helping people at such an important time in their lives is tremendously humbling. “My clients always thank me for giving them so much of my time and energy, but I don’t think they realize how fortunate I feel to be a part of their lives. I love the work that I do for them and I am always so grateful.”
Steven focuses on guiding people through what most people consider a confusing and anxious process. The people that benefit from working with him prefer to be positioned in the best negotiating position possible, to get where they want to be on time, and to do so with the least stress and fewest surprises possible. By making sure that you have the best information and have 100% clarity along the way, Steven's clients have the confidence they need to make the best decisions for themselves along the way. "My favorite calls are the ones when my clients are freaking out telling me that 'it can't be this easy!' My clients are like the beautiful duck above the water floating along with ease. My job is to be that duck's legs and feet, paddling like crazy beneath the surface." Steven believes he is living his dream: growing everyday to become better and serving the world to leave it a better place than he found it. He believes that if you’re not making someone else’s life better, then you’re wasting your time.
If you or anyone you know needs help with real estate, he is always happy to help. If someone you know needs help and they’re not in the Charleston area, he’s more than happy to help connect them with an agent like himself that will put their interests first, so don’t hesitate to call him, no matter what. "To me, your best interest comes first, so once we go over everything you need, I can help you find the right agent to take care of you or I'll be glad to serve you myself if we feel that we're a good fit."
