As a child, Steven wanted to become a vet. He loved animals and thought that getting to work with them every day would be the perfect job. While still in elementary school, he was asked what his favorite thing would be if he became a vet. He answered, “putting animals to sleep,” and that’s when he learned what that saying actually meant. “I thought it meant they would wake up later and the vet gets to keep them. Apparently, I was mistaken and I didn't want anyone to know that I didn't know what it meant so I pretended like I thought putting animals out of their misery was noble. But I was dying on the inside. That pretty much ruined the idea of becoming a vet for me.”
Fast forward a couple decades and two questions brought Steven to real estate. How will you serve the world? What do they need that your talent can provide? Having the privilege of helping people at such an important time in their lives is tremendously humbling. “My clients always thank me for giving them so much of my time and energy, but I don’t think they realize how fortunate I feel to be a part of their lives. I love the work that I do for them and I am always so grateful.”
Most people who know him know that he’s the easiest person to buy a gift for: reading is his obsession. The difficulty is finding a book that he hasn’t read yet. He reads mostly nonfiction: business, science, historical biographies, psychology, and philosophy. He loves using apps like audible and the public library’s version to listen to books while he’s in the car which helps him consume books when he otherwise wouldn’t be able. “I don’t use electronic books. I love being able to turn the pages and holding the actual book. But I did teach myself to listen to books because I spend so much time in the car and it’s another way to enjoy learning.” Steven believes he is living his dream: growing everyday to become better and serving the world to leave it a better place than he found it. He believes that if you’re not making someone else’s life better, then you’re wasting your time.
If you or anyone you know needs help with real estate, he is always happy to help. If someone you know needs help and they’re not in the Charleston area, he’s more than happy to help connect them with an agent like himself that will put their interests first, so don’t hesitate to call him, no matter what. "To me, your best interest comes first, so once we go over everything you need, I can help you find the right agent to take care of you or I'll be glad to serve you myself if we agree that we're a good fit."
